We have moved

Postby Peter Banz on Jan Wed 16, 2008 10:20 pm

XWALL.US has moved to a dedicated server. It took a lot longer and more effort but the new hardware will give the forum some much needed speed.

Please let me know if something got lost in the transfer.

I like the new look... especially the scrolling window for code.
Is there a size limit to code posts?

I don't know but I'm sure if you run out of space there is a setting somewhere. The phpBB guys did a lot of work and it will take me some time to find all the settings.

I believe I have found the setting and I moved it up from 256 kb to 1meg per post.

I have fixed the login issue (cookie related again) on the new board. Now it should keep you logged in if you asked it to between visits and it will keep your "unread posts" marked appropriately.

Thanks Brent,
I like fixes before I even realize I have a problem. 8) In retrospect I did notice I had to type my password way too many times

Peter, I just noticed that all the old "internal" cross-reference links have the same t= post numbers but are still pointing to ...BB2 instead of ...BB3. Is it possible to search and replace the internal forum references to reflect the proper links again?

I was wondering what all these link to bb2 were in my daily system report. I don't know enough about the PhpBB to do that but I'll see if I can get Brent to look at it.

I could not find a solution for the bb2 links embedded in messages yet. Maybe I can do a table search and replace in the MySQL data base directly. Any recommendations for a tool to use?
